Real Edam cheese, the pride of Edam
The perfectly round Edam is one of the best-known cheeses of the Netherlands. It originated in the 14th century in the harbour town of Edam, right next to Volendam. The cheeses have a mild flavour with a slightly spicy aroma and salty undertones, and are coated in the characteristic red paraffin.
Choose a young or matured Edam of approx. 1.7 to 1.9 kilos, or the small Baby Edam of approx. 900 grams. Delicious on bread, on a cheese board or as a truly Dutch gift.
